SAHARA TOUR : 3 days through Chegaga village
3 Days : Marrakech – Draa Valley - M’hamid - Chegaga - Marrakech
Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou - Zagora
We depart from your Riad/hotel in Marrakech and travel through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass (2260 m) :
the highest road pass in Morocco offering spectacular panoramic views of the mountains and valleys.
Along the way, we visit several Kasbahs, including Tamnougalte and Ait Benhaddou; a 16th century UNESCO site, Ait Benhaddou is one of the best preserved and most spectacular Kasbahs in Morocco.
Ait Benhaddou is a famous site for Hollywood films, and was used for the blockbuster film of 2000, Gladiator. The trip continues through the palm lined Draa river valley. We arrive in Zagora, where we enjoy dinner, and spend the night in a hotel.

Day 2: Zagora – Tamgroute - M’hamid - Chegaga
After breakfast, we leave for M'hamid. On the way we stop at Tamgroute to visit the Koranic library and experience the underground pottery making.
At M'hamid we have lunch by the Bivouac, and ride camels for about 2 hours before we continue with our journey.
From M'hamid we travel by a 4wheel drive vehicle through the beautiful desert landscape finally arriving at the sand dunes of Chegaga, the largest group of dunes in the region, reaching a height of 300 m and spanning 40 km. We enjoy the sumptuous dinner with local entertainment and camp in nomad tents for the night.

Day 3: Chegaga – lac Iriqui - Foum Zguid - Taznakht - Marrakech
We leave for Marrakech via the track between the Erg Chegaga and the dry bed of Draa through Lake Iriqui, passing Foum Zguid and continuing via Taznakht.
Photo stops will be made during the day between Taznakht and Marrakesh before arriving back at your Riad/hotel.
