SAHARA TOUR

3 Days : Marrakech - Gorges Dades - Merzouga - Erg Chibbi - Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben haddou - Dades Gorges
In the morning we depart for Dades via the Col de Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, appreciating the beauty of the landscape on the twisted road through the Berber villages. We visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, a UNESCO historical site, now, a house of many members of the Glaoui family.

Before continuing to the Dades Gorge via Ouarzazat, "the Hollywood of Africa", we enjoy lunch at the Kasbah. We continue on the "Road of a thousand Kasbahs" - the fascinating "sand castles" before stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, "the city of roses" known for roses and its annual festival during the rose harvest in May. We continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dades Gorge.
Day 2: Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Merzouga
We drive from Dades Gorge to Merzouga via the Todra Gorge (the highest oasis valley gorge in Morocco). Arriving in the desert, your guide and camels will be waiting to carry you across the sandy dunes of the Moroccan Sahara.
The camel trek as the sun set across a desert landscape lasts approximately 2 hours before reaching your desert camp and home for the night: a traditional nomad tent. At your desert shelter, your camels are hobbled and mint tea is served. A simple meal of Tagine is freshly prepared for you by your guide.
Day 3: Merzouga - Marrakech
After breakfast with the Bedouin family you will camel-trek peacefully back to the village of Merzouga. En route you will not fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes changing with the light as the day progresses.

Arriving late morning back in Merzouga, you will have the option of a shower in the guesthouse before we leave for Ouarzazat and Marrakech again over the Tizi NTichka pass. We arrive back in Marrakech, where the tour ends, in the evening.
